The Beat the Odds Academy is a rigorous professional development program for school administrators and teachers administered by the Center for the Future of Arizona and the National Institute for School Leadership. 

Since 2007 over 500 of Arizona’s school leaders have participated in the program.

The Center for the Future of Arizona wanted to create some videos that captured alumni of the program reflecting on how it changed their career and made them better educators. The intended audience for the videos was educators who were thinking about applying to the program.

The big challenge we had to overcome in making these videos was the limited time we had to spend with the educators. Their days were packed. The most time we could spend was usually only a couple of hours so we had to make each moment and interview question count.
