I’m experimenting a lot with the After Effects plug-in Plexus. Plexus is a partial renderer made by Rowbyte that allows you to sort the particles and add relationships to them. You are able to add noise, facets, points and primitive shapes. It also has a noise effector where you can have the points react to audio. It’s super powerful and I’ve just scratched the surface of what it can do.

This is one of my latest experiments. I’m using a 3D OBJ model as a container for the particles. I haven’t played with using OBJ models much in Plexus.

I’m using Deep Glow for the glow effect. So far I really like Deep Glow. The results are superior to what comes built into After Effects and it offers a lot of control.
